For Dr. Valle Wilhite Rischer, dentistry has been a way of life from an early age. Many afternoons after school were spent at her father’s dental office in Macon, MO, where he has practiced for over 40 years. She is a “Tiger at heart” as a former all-state basketball player for the Macon Tigers, and has also attended Truman State University, the University of Missouri St. Louis, and finally the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry, graduating at the top of her class in 1995, the recipient of numerous awards.
After practicing dentistry with her father and in Kansas City, Dr. Valle opened Woodrail Dental Centre in Columbia in 1998 with her husband, Dr. Jon Rischer, whom she married in 1996. The practice changed its name and location in November 2007, and is now Dentistry by Design, at its present location in Columbia. Post-graduate education remains integral in Dr. Valle’s dental career so that the entire team can provide the highest quality of dental care and service to patients. After several years of intensive coursework and training at The Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), she became one of around 1000 dentists in the world to receive the LVI Fellowship distinction.
Outside of her three days a week at the office, Dr. Valle loves spending time with her children Christian and Audrey. In 2007 she ventured out as an author, writing the book “Angels on Earth.” As a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and an Our Lady of Lourdes Interparish School parent, she volunteers regularly as a “lunch lady” in the cafeteria, and she and Dr. Jon provide protective athletic mouthguards to athletes at Father Tolton Catholic High School. A self-proclaimed karaoke nut, Dr. Valle also enjoys all kinds of music and fitness activities.
